The resort complex shares a sub-tropical parkland with one of New Zealand's greatest single visitor attractions, the Waitangi Threaty House.   • We had a really lovely room, the reception staff were very helpful. The food in the restaurant was of a very high standard. The only downfall was the cocktail I had before dinner. I ordered a Passionfruit Caprioska and it was possibly the worst cosktail I had ever had. There was no fresh lime in it, i thiink theu used lime cordial. The ice lime and sugar definitely hadn't been muddled. For the price, I would have expected much better. Overall though, out stay was good value for money

  • Very enjoyable stay. (Even the weather behaved itself) The room was very well presented and comfortable. Included breakfasts excellent and service really good. No trouble getting the 20% off the dinners even there was no paper work to say the offer included this. Would definately go again.

  • Even though it was raining we had a wonderful stay, well looked after and food was very good indeed. Our room was spacious and clean and looked out over the Bay. All of the staff were very friendly. It is the best of the CDL Hotels that we have stayed in and the two day B & B package is great value for money.

  • The Garden Rooms were comfortable though a little outdated in bathroom facilities. The Breakfast was beautifully presented and a great way to start the day. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful I would certainly stay here and recommend Copthorne as a place to stay to friends in the future. It is well worth waking for the sunrise view....wow!

  • Lovely place. Really enjoyed it. Because we got a special we enjoyed going to breakfast in the morning. Gorgeous breakfast. Dinner and lunch was too expensive for us. Tv reception in lounge was bad as wanted to catch up on cricket. Couldnt.Could never get a park near our room and yet their was so much land around. Staff pleasant and helpful. Would reccommend to people but only if they had money. Cheers.

  • I am a regular to the Copthorne Bay of Islands and i would like to say that we have always enjoyed it, the drive everytime is definitely worth it. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Simon and the team for making the last visit a most pleasureable one for my guests. Need more people in the industry like yourselves. Well Done!

  • The garden room was well presented and the availability of a laundry and portable cot were appreciated by this young family. Lack of internet in rooms and exorbitant cost per minute in the main lounge was both a surprise and a disappointment. When wireless internet is available in most cafes with the purchase of a coffee one woudl expect this as a free service in a hotel such as this. Big negative for future business function plans.

  • Lovely room with great view. but a pity that the $40.00 Buffet was not up to standard, 2 plates of Mussells & some imported Prawns not a good seafood selection would suggest A La Carte a better option
