Hulmes Court Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful 1860s Victorian mansion located in Dunedin New Zealand. Hulmes Court BandB is an architectural treasure situated right in the heart of Dunedin. Hulmes Court BandB provides quiet, comfortable, friendly Bed and Breakfast accommodation when you are in Dunedin visiting our wonderful attractions, such as the Otago Peninsula with Larnach Castle, Albatross Colony, penguins, seals, and wonderful walks, the southern hemisphere's finest Victorian architecture, New Zealand's oldest university, excellent night life and vitality that comes with being a busy university town. There is also the Taieri Gorge Excursion Train, Botanic Garden with world renowned rhododendrons, Hocken Library, Speights Brewery and much more.

3-minute walk to town. Relaxed, safe, quirky, intelligent, friendly, helpful. Free: wireless internet, laundry, off-street parking. Plus Solstice and Jimmy Cats. We make your stay EASY :) Norman your host is well educated and travelled with a number of other businesses, his team of co-hosts are local female university students. We reflect the atmosphere of this lovely college town.

Hulmes Court was built in 1862 by the first surgeon and one of the founders of the Otago Medical School. The neighbouring property, Hulmes Too, is part of the bed and breakfast. We are very close to town but down a side street, opposite a large Girls School, so it is very quiet. We have a range of rooms to suit every budget and room conafiguration. Ranging from $70 for the economical Rose Single Room to our Premium King Ensuites at $165. We also have a variety of twin rooms, and Queen or King with singles.

Comments about this property

  • Lovely place to stay, very close to town, but quiet with on-site parking. All the staff were very friendly and the house was lovely and warm.

  • Came in at 5:45 Pm and left at 5:am but the friendly staff showed me where the coffee pot was along with the bread for toad and the cereal. Nice atmosphere and it was great to have Wi-Fi. The young lady who checked me in had just finished a veterinary course, she was extremely helpful and charming. Solsitce had gone missing a few days before my arrival. I do hope you found the pet. The young lady seemed very concerned

  • friendly staff, lovely rooms and reasonable prices, but the shared bathroom on the ground floor was totally blocked and couldn't take a shower!

  • Fantastic! They were ready for us to get there at 9pm on New Years Eve, the room was pretty quiet even though it was a street facing room close to the Octagon, and the breakfast selection was pretty incredible
