Ibis Tainui Hamilton is located in the heart of Hamilton city overlooking the Mighty Waikato River. Adjacent to Novotel Tainui Hamilton and Skycity Casino, the hotel is only minute's walk away from relaxing river walkways, cafes, restaurants, shopping and entertainment. This international 3.5 star hotel features 126 accommodation rooms, a Restaurant and Bar, and three meeting rooms.

With its sleek modern decor and spectacular views of the Waikato River, i-bistro offers contemporary New Zealand cuisine, either indoors or alfresco on the balcony. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a warm and relaxed atmosphere can be enjoyed all year round.

Also available are two conference rooms and a boardroom offering a great venue for meetings or training sessions. Ibis offers day delegate packages to suit all requirements and budgets and can be tailored accordingly.

The accommodation rooms offer a choice of city or riverside views, King or twin bedding, and interconnecting rooms on request. All are fitted with individual air-conditioning units, flat screen tvs, on-demand movies, Sky TV, tea/coffee facilities, internet access, and mini fridges.

  • A amazing stay at Ibis Hamilton. Rooms are a bit small but i wasn't in the room much. Best hotel in Hamilton together with Novotel.... Loved it

  • We needed time out from the grind and chose Tainui from Travelbug. The price was perfect for our budget and the room was just as described. Clean and tidy. Great curtains to keep out the light, so a sleep in was on the menu. A drink at the bar and dinner out. Great stay. We will return sooner than later. Staff excellant too.

  • Another enjoyable stay here.Great bargain from travel bug.Clean tidy room. Well situated.Had minor problem with noisey toilet cistern, but easily fiixed. Would stay again should another great deal come our way.Friendly, helpful reception.

  • Perfect location! Very clean and tidy! Very handy to the shops as well. Staff were very helpful and kind. Perhaps next time around they will provide newspaper in the room. Valet parking at $15.00 per day is reasonable.

  • I have stayed in four similarly priced budget hotels in Hamilton and all of them were dire, dire dire....dirty, smelly, dark....I was dubious about this one too, as have stayed in many Ibis hotels overseas that were cramped and basic, but Tainui was a wonderful surprise. The room was well big enough for 2, the bed was enormous & comfy, the cleanliness faultless, even in the compact but modern bathroom. Often in this price range hairdryers/fridges/Sky TV/air con/writing desks are 'extras' but not here. Close to all the action but blissfully SILENT at night. Best of all was the sunny, gorgeous view through the trees, across the river; just magic in Autumn. Downstairs the dining room, with it's balcony suspended in trees looked fresh & inviting, although we chose to take the receptionist's good advice & eat at the very popular Original Thai....2 doors down! How great is that!! Why people pay double to go the Novotel I'll never know.

  • Great place, clean, comfortable. Travelbug offered a free room upgrade which Ibis staff hadn't heard of, but they fixed this which was nice- maybe take a screen shot of upgrade with you. No one to help you with your bags, but very nice room, very nice bathroom. Television was nice, good quality linen. Great location. Will be suggesting this spot for our business.

  • We only stayed one night,but found it ,a very nice room,with everything you need,also had a good nights sleep,as the bed was comfy.did't mind having to pay $15 for your car,as that was parked for you and also brought to the door when you needed it.Would stay there again. Cathy Poole

  • clean, acceptable for the price. Perhaps the least impressive entrance of any hotel I've ever stayed in, breakfast buffet and room facilities very basic. But pleasant outlook over the river.
