Welcome to our charming and historic big white villa which was Otane's original (c.1896) 'Boarding House'. Just off SH2, south of Hastings and only 5 minutes north of New Zealand's oldest inland town, Waipawa. Relax on the verandah, wander through our 3/4 acre garden or walk to the local Cafe/Store and Dairy. Meet our 2 dogs, 4 chickens and make use of the trampoline & BBQ. Visit empty beaches (photo is Mangakuri - 30 mins), vineyards, Museum, craft outlets, library, cinema, indoor /outdoor pools and golf courses.... all within an easy drive or cycle (bikes available). House sleeps up to 5 in one wing - access to verandah from the Triple Bedroom (new twin brass beds & an Indian Day Bed). This and the comfortable Queen room share the large guest only bathroom - clawfoot bath and shower. Our 1880s Semi-Contained Rustic Railway Cottage has an antique double brass bed, sofa, freeview tv and small kitchenette (note it's rustic nature - outside loo + shower in house: ideal for budget travellers).
Rates for house include continental breakfast with free range poached eggs.
We emigrated from the UK in 2005 (Steve, Florrie & 12 yr old Andrew) and enjoy meeting visitors from all over NZ and overseas. Guests in the house are welcome to share our family room and you have access to wireless internet throughout the property.
We are currently only accepting bookings for Friday & Saturday nights.
