  • i walked into the beautiful reception and was really excited only to be totally dissapointed to find a room that desperately needed a coat of paint. The bathroom was very tired looking with mould. Will not be recommending.

  • Stayed 2 nights. Room comfortable - mattress a bit hard for me. Meals lovely and staff helpful, smiling and courteous.

  • Stay for one night only. The room was base priced and the view was a back alley, the linen was clean. Ok for a one night stay but not too much longer.

  • "Superior" room was basic but comfortable and with a view up the valley. Staff friendly and helpful, happy for us to check in early and out late, and even looked after our bags while we went out and got caught in a hailstorm. Like the last guy said, good value and I'd stay at the Kingsgate again.

  • The room and location of the Hotel suited our weekend train trip from Christchurch. The staff were helpful and friendly. The wet bathroom floor from the toilet cistern was the only down-fall.
