Comments about this property

  • view was amazing but we didnt even get a hand towel (they said they didnt have any) and had to ask for a face cloth. brekkie was late, teaspoon was not clean, and dont ask me about the spout pool, yukky im sure there was blood on the wall.

  • The room with the view was absolutely perfect! It was the best site in Rotorua, it overlooked the Geyser and it was so beautiful. The staff were friendly and quite helpful, we have no faults with this hotel. Yes, so it is a little run down but for the price it is everything we'd expected, the breakfast in the morning was fresh and tasty, we had a great stay! Thanks, and would definitely use this hotel again!

  • Burnt Vegies - tasted burnt. Two cockroaches - have proof of. "Act of Nature" we do not dispute this at all but most of all if we had been informed by staff who had ample opportunity to inform us as guests of "sister hotel Heritage to provide hot showers or hot pools to help" we would not have even filled out the complaint form you provided. We were an expectant, happy couple on our anniversary weekend so all of the downside etc came from your hotel but we are putting it down to a bad memory for our 40th. Thanx a lot. End of story.

  • Room basic, good view of geyser, no mini bar as was advertised, no heating or hot water so no spa or sauna. Staff hopeless & were charged for meals we did not have. Towels had holes in them & freyed. Lift opened & shut with no one in them outside room so kept awake all night. Cockroaches, food small portions but big price and veges burnt, curtains would not close - not a good ambassador for Rotorua,we were very disappointed to say the least. Our hard earned money wasted - talk about our "Luxury" room as advertised. No reply from Head Office regarding our written complaint - no apology. It really was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at, & husband was a tour driver.

  • We have issued an e-mail to the above guests apologising for the "act of nature" on Queens Birthday w/e.The storm blew out all gas and electricity water and heating, which we repaired , it then had a major blow out including pumps, fuses , burning the equipment etc. The Lift was part of the power outage, there were no cockroaches as every room the week before had been spring cleaned, carpets shampooed, and they were spotless as I checked these myself. Yes the linen is getting old and we are trying to address that, the "Burnt food" was slow roasted veg, browned but NOT burnt, and not overpriced by any restaurant/hotel standard. Many guests were letdown by the lack of warmth etc, but it was out of our control, we arranged with our sister hotel Heritage to provide hot showers or hot pools to help. Once again we apologise for a situation that was out of our control. Cheryl & Chris Leddie -General Managers 25/6/10

  • We had a nice stay in a family room, comfortable but rollaway as old as the Hotel........... would not take much to lift the standard of the accommodation ie fill soap dispenser and service of staff just needs a shake up as great hospitality makes amends for dated facilities......... fantastic location ..........Would stay again......

  • We booked well in advance only to arrive to be informed that they were full.We to had abed and breakfast package and they sent us to the Heritage were b/fast wasn,t included.(will be staying there again fantsastic) What gets me is they took our money ,didn,t ring us to let us know, and we,re still waiting for the manager to call us ,even an apology would do,would nt recommend them.

  • This place does not complement the geysers a good kick under the ass from reception to roomservice. How do you come from a toilet wash your hands and then you expected to rinse your glass in the same basin come on now this is suppose to be a first world country.
    Wayne Siebritz - Apr 4, 2010
  • The room had a brilliant view of the geysers and mud pools! The accommodation was very clean and basic and had everything we needed. We will certainly stay there again and have recommended it to other people.

  • Family suite consisted of 1 queen and 2 singles all in the same room. We have 2 daughters aged 12 and 17 having to share two drinking glasses not even of the same size and style. 3 mugs always all different sizes and one teaspoon. No complimentary soaps, shampoos at all. Who takes a bottle of shampoo and a bar of soap from home when you're going to a hotel for just a weekend??? We had to go out and buy soap for the next shower session. Beautiful views with dirty windows. Nothing fancy. A good make-over will do the hotel wonders if they want to stay in business. Had to pin curtains together at night to avoid early sunlight coming into room. The gap between curtains were about 30cms!!!!!!

  • The room was very basic but good views of the geyser. We were disconcerted on check out to be charged for the free breakfasts when it clearly stated on Trade Me they were free. Refused to pay for them. The right hand was at odds with the left hand.
