We booked a "surprise upgrade cabin" and we did get a surprise. They upgraded us to a cute cottage. The service was friendly, accomodating and the cottage was cosy and tidy. We checked out early to explore Te Aroha the next morning and the owner was so gracious and allowed us to leave our bikes there while we went to explore the town. Great adventure playground for young kids. Lots of grassed areas and large shady trees. The unit we stayed in is old (as indicated by the website) but clean and everything works. We would happily stay there again.

The cottage wa comfortable & pretty well equipped - certainly for my needs (the shower curtain was a bit grotty, but not bad enough to complain!!). It was good to have the spacious grounds for my guide-dog. Met my expectations overall.

We only stayed two nights but it was a very nice quiet site, the accommodation was clean and tidy and we enjoyed our stay.

The venue was in a lovely setting, the rooms were clean and comfortable, good value for the price. The only thing that could have made our experience better was kitchen facilities, there were only tiny coffee cups, a very slow portable stove top and no dish wand. Slightly better cooking facilities would have made the experience even better.
