Lavender Cottage was built in the late 19th century and is set in a delightful cottage garden.
The rooms are furnished in a style belonging to a bygone era, beautifully complementing the original totara paneling.
The Cottage is kept warm by a wood burning fire and your worries can be soothed away in the deep claw footed bath.
Lavender Cottage is self contained accommodation only a five minute walk to a range of award winning cafes, restaurants and antique shops in one of New Zealand's most extensive displays of Victorian architecture.
"Lavender Room" provides a comfy, double antique brass bed.
"Rose Room" provides two comfortable antique single beds.
Our adjoining Rosebud Studio offers lovely accommodation for two additional guests.

Great location, very comfortable and well equipped cottage. A peaceful spot with lovely gardens, a great retreat. Owners also very helpful and communicative. Overall location very central to a large variety of activities and amenities in the general area. Excellent find !

A lovely cottage within easy waliking distance to town. It is very clean and tidy and has beautiful linen. Would highly reccommend.

Really enjoyed our stay in this cosy little character cottage. Our daughter loved the studio which was lovely. Great location to walk to the shops. The only downfall was being unable to access the internet due to some problem with the modem which was unable to fixed over our 3 day stay.

Everything we needed was provided and John was very helpful on the phone prior to our stay. We loved the cottage and studio and would definitely come back again. A real treat!
