We got a good deal though travelbug and had a lovely night away. Enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub and the friendly staff. Went to the other restaurant on the site and had a surprisingly good meal.. Surprising because the ribeye steak was as good any expensive restaurant and the "spring roll" type of dessert was outstanding. Thumbs up for beautifully clean room but despite renovation shower door did not close properly, leaking water everywhere, hair dryer did not work and fridge was so laden with drinks impossible to even put a bottle of water in there without removing about 8 bottles. Found it hard to believe that on a long holiday weekend with visitors from all over the place for airshow that in the main restaurant we had to order by nine or miss out. Five people dined and we all found nothing spectacular about the main meal especially as it was quite costly. Also often found reception short staffed. It is my second stay here unfortunately for the price i would not be keen to return.

We booked the 'bed and breakfast' deal, which for only $5 more per night entitled us to a full cooked breakfast each morning. We couldn't fault the hotel. Our room was immaculately clean, we could park right outside, and it provided us with a comfortable stay for our 3 nights. We had a superb dinner in The Grill, their main diningroom, on two of these nights - and the food was not only beautifully presented and cooked, the emphasis was on locally sourced ingredients. If what you wanted was a cheap noshup, then go elsewhere - Masterton like most other towns have other options. But this indicated they had a great chef behind the scenes. We went on the recommendation of several friends, and weren't disappointed, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Solway Park to others. Plenty to do on site for families of all ages as well.

Rooms nicely renovated but unfortunately smoke tainted with a bucket of cigarete butts at door. Previous occupiers milk still in fridge - not cleaned out? Staff very helpful in rectifying. Dining room expensive but Cobb & Co across the way a good option

I stay 3-5 times a year at the Copthorne and have always been happy with the cleanliness and service. As usually Easter weekend this year was the same. Great buffet breakfast. The only thing I would say but it seems to be more other patrons not the actual place itselfs. In the mornings 6.30am I heard kids running up the corridor screaming then a car show that was on, at 7.00am two MG's in the room either side of me decided to warm their cars up. Each time I have stayed here I have failed to have a sleep in. So definitly more of a family friendly place.

Short Overnight Stay but a nice place. Rooms are recently renovated and large and hotel has many good amenities including restaurant and swimming pool. Nice outdoor area with table provided. Beds need upgrading and very noisy hallway in the morning due to children running and playing. Not good if you want to sleep in!
