  • The apartment is ok ish. Likely it is in the back of the house as the front road is very busy and i don't think it would be possible to sleep otherwise. It would be better and nicer if there were more than only 1 teaspoon, a shower mat in the bathroom so you don't freeze your feet on the tile floor, the heating light in the toilet repaired, a new hairdryer as the one there does not work very well. It does not cost much to do and it would improve the property. . 5

  • Yes apartment is at the back of the house and nice and quiet. Due to the location being close to the city there is a lot of traffic going past if the location was not so good there would indeed be less noise. There is shower mats in the bathroom in the vanity wish you had asked as we could have directed you to them. With regards to the heat lamp there is one there and originally two we had complaints about it being too hot in the bathrooom so we took one out so at a bit of a stalemate as what to do with regards to this. Tried the hairdryer and it appears to work ok now. Will check the cutlery drawer and provide new teaspoon sorry about this as it appears it has been misplaced. thanks for your feedback

  • Tidy, spacious, clean, well appointed accommodation. However - given the back of the house (where the rooms are located) is surrounded by retaining walls there is no 'private garden' to speak of, and no sun, and the rooms smell a bit musty and damp. Also - being a bnb i assumed it included a bed and some breakfast as alluded to in the listing, but apparently breakfast is 'by negotiation only'. But on the whole a nice enough place to stay despite a few disappointments. 5

  • With regards to the accommodation being located at the back of the property it is quiet and not near the road where there is a lot of traffic. There is quite a large garden up the path behind the apartment there is afternoon sun most of the year however if you were not in the apartment all of the time you may have missed it. . WIthout sound defensive it is not possible for the apartment to be musty or damp as it has central heating which during the winter and up until now has been used constantly used by the people staying. I do apologise about the breakfast however there obviously was confusion with regards to the price that included breakfast $105 per night and the amount you paid $100 per night.

  • Lovely studio accommodation. Nice and handy to cable car and buses. Would be helpful to have a few more plates and utensils, but overall a fab place to stay. 5

  • Recently painted accommodation close to the city cable car which was fun. The beds were a bit musty which could have been sorted by leaving the electric blankets on for a few days. The first impressions are disappointing, the letterbox should be ditched, makes the place look like a student pad. Thanks anyway for the stay. . 5

  • I was attracted to this place following the exchange of messages back in february. I wanted to know who to believe the owners or the tenants. Based on my own experience i come down on the side of the owners. They clearly have gone to great lengths to make these rooms as good as they can. The place is in pristine condition, everything is gleaming and looks new and everything worked. The photograph doesn't do justice to the decor or furnishings. John showed me how to hook my laptop up to the internet and explained how to use the tv remote controls. It's a lovely part of town and i enjoyed getting to the city centre using a cable car which is a short walk from the property. The weather wasn't very good but we have to blame the almighty rather than the owners for that. I would definitely use this place again. . 5

  • Lovely warm apartment, central heating was much appreciated. Missed having a microwave but otherwise kitchen was fine, shower very good. Awesome location close to shops and cable car, made the holiday stress free since we didn't have to drive too much on the hilly roads. Nice touches around the apartment that we enjoyed, and yes it is very quiet and private in spite of being on a main road. 5

  • I am afraid to say that the quality of service was sadly lacking together with the quality of the accommodation. When booking Beaulieu for a two night break we were led to believe by the advertisement that it was 'luxury' accommodation. Unfortunately this was far from true. It was very basic and poorly equipped, with not even a dish cloth provided for washing up!! Trying to prepare a meal was a real challenge with no preparation board and very limited utensils. Several light bulbs were not working and there was only one bedside reading light. There was no bath mat or door mat. The flat was dirty and dusty and no broom or mop to clean it. Being booked in for two nights and having paid 50% in advance and full settlement demanded on arrival we felt we were committed to staying. We did bring up the issues with the owner but they were met with complete disinterest. Finally, we would like to say that this 'sunny' accommodation looks directly out onto a 8-10 foot brick wall on one window and a 6 foot brick wall with fence on top was the outlook from the other window. However, on a positive note, the accommodation is actually situated close to the cable car and Botanic Gardens!! 1

  • These people were obnoxious and the man went around with a note pad and was taking notes at all times trying to bait me for a reaction. In fact at one stage I was invited to react which I did not. Having lived and worked in the Uk where these people were from it is easy to see why they are like this it is there National occupation to complain and they even get compensated when the train is a few minutes late. We do not supply a mop as usually in two days people as a rule do not make such a mess as to require a mopping however if there is a dust pan and brush, There is a preparation board in the tray cupboard and the utensils supplied are the same as a motel would supply. The accomodation as at the rear of the property and lovely and quiet. The property is on the main road if it was closer to the road where they would complain about the noise. There is no door mat as people could trip on it and on our site we do not advertise that we do have a doormat. A shower mat is supplied. No mention of Central Heating 50 Channels of Cable Tv or the WIFI internet which very few properties in NZ have nor the full oven facility. These people are really sad they would not have had much of a holiday if they go around the country with their notepad like this. Other feedbacks on our property are positive and I have faith that fairness rules
