  • Very nice friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant is great. Room was nice with twin queen size beds, but bathroom is in desperate need of an update. Would happily stay again though. 5

  • The hotel is ok but not 4 star. Bathroom very run down - taps not secure, water went onto floor from shower. Not free wi fi either - you have to go down to reception and then can only use it for 30 minutes. In room it is plug in and with a cost. Pool not open - therefore pretty expensive for what we got. 1

  • Booked with one days notice aand showed up and no problems. Very nice quiet room and so close to town especially as the lift goes all the way down to town street level. Great food and wonderful service in the restaurant. 5

  • Stayed here on a acor weekend special and it was great.they have a looked security gate door to store your luggage tagged if you arrive early.the location is great secluded from late night relievers and with nice views of the city from the restaurant.the staff are very helpful and friendly and the chefs cooking is superb .when i had my pork dinner which was so tasty everyone in the restaurant was complementing the chefs cooking of their meals.i was off to the cinema and the movie was cancelled so had to change the dinner time no problem for this hotel.the desserts are well presented in the restaurant and room service.i was lazy and took taxis but its a easy walk to cuba street.the only problem i encountered was some people coming in late and slamming doors. I suggest you find some way of silencing the doors and putting oil in as well.also watch your head if you are tall with the room as you come in the door.the desk near the bed you have to put the chair on a angle to sit.breakfast grt. 5

  • Good room rate - great view from restaraunt, even at night - staff helpful and polite. Pool warm, gym "functional" (especially when raining outside!)rooms tidy and nice considering their age. 5

  • I love this place, it's tucked out of the way and is such good value for money for my family of four. Car parking is a bit tight, we thought the top of our car was going to get scrapped, it didn't though. We would definitely stay again. 5

  • This is a nice little hotel in a quiet part of the Terrace, directly uphill(and I mean UPhill)from Vivian Street. We walked into the city and back again after our soccer game and although the walk back up was a cardiovascular workout i did not mind at all. The beds were comfortable and the room was fine if a little dated, but that is part of the charm of Welly in my opinion. Only one complaint and its a biggie.I run an online business and need to be connected to the internet and the hotel seems to be in an internet dead zone and there were absolutley NO wireless networks available. I had to go into the city before i could get a network, which is fine at 9pm as it is a good excuse for a coffee but at 2AM it really is not funny at all. That aside, this is a recommended hotel. 5

  • My daughter and I recently stayed at this hotel. The location is not central but this was fine with us and we knew where the hotel was located when we made the booking. Our first room was okay except that there was nothing double about the double bed it was minute. The receptionist was very nice about this and happily moved us to a larger room. The second room was pleasant with a nice view of Wellington and everything was clean. The beds had duvets and were firm but comfortable. The bathroom was just a wee bit tired but fine. All in all for the cheaper rate that we paid this hotel was okay. The only real critisism would be the pool gym and sauna were in serious need of an upgrade and were not of a standard acceptable for this kind of hotel. For this reason I have given it the thumbs down but if you arent bothered about exercising this hotel is fine. 1
