The SilverOaks Hotel on Thorndon offers quality accommodation at an affordable price. We're located only 1km from Wellington City and Parliament, and 3km from the ferry terminal. Opposite the Botanical Gardens and cable car, on the main bus route.
Guest facilities include breakfast room, lounge bar, 24-hour room service and reception, and ample free off-street parking. We offer 3 conference/meeting rooms with full technical equipment available for up to 180 persons. Tour and sports groups are welcome.
The Hotel is located directly opposite the Botanical Gardens.
The 70 guest rooms each comprise a queen and single bed, ensuite with bath/ shower, comfortable chairs, free2view TV, wireless internet, tea/ coffee making facilities and work station.

Yep great just like stepping back in time bed very comfy sleep well everything old but in good nic,shower works great ,little fridge noisy so unpluged it.very quite area.would stay again hopefully this summer.got in very late would have been good if could watch a bit of tv to chill but tv no digital.i think.!all good. 5DREW WRIGHT - May 9, 2013 Travelbug verified review

Awesome location and parking and cheap to stay at yet blown fuse so no fridge which got reported but not actioned till 24hrs later not good when traveling with a pre school child.

So dated it was unbelieveable. Everything very tired and worn. I would not take by wife there but it is a good cheap stay with breakfast.

My daughter and her husband had a night at silveroaks hotel on thordon. She said the room was good, bed very comfortable and the breakfast was good as well.

Was very dated and carpets smelled. Showed no signs of care. Breakfast very poor. Definitely cheap and nasty. I would avoid in future.

I read the comments but this was good value for the money.although decor dated and tired it was clean tidy. Breakfast very adequate. Staff friendly and very helpful.

This place was terrible! ... I would never stay there again, showers and toilets all skody, staff useless, i would rate this place a 1 star, this place is more like a backpackers, should charge $20 per night, i think travelbug need to review this hotel on there website, going by the other comments, this hotel is not at all what they advertise it to be, not impressed.
