The newly renovated Travelodge Wellington is ideally situated in the hub of the city's financial district, and is just a short stroll to lively cafes, shops and the beautiful Wellington harbour.
The hotel offers 132 spacious rooms with a lovely city view breakfast room - the perfect way to start your day.

Steps Restaurant, located within Travelodge Wellington, is a great place to refuel and rest weary limbs after an exhausting day of sightseeing. The dining room and kitchen have been completely revamped with a fresh, modern décor and an enticing new menu; making it the ideal spot to unwind or impress clients. The delicious a la carte offerings, fresh with a focus on local produce, are coupled with a full selection of home grown and international wines.

Strange entry to the hotel via car park which unfortunately gives a negative first impression. Staff were generally okay on welcome. Room tidy and clean but bathroom tiles need refacing room adequate but not special. Would have loved a double bed and bath. Terrible view from room of car parking/back of building. Gym excellent and modern. Didn't use the bar/restaurant but it looked clean and welcoming. Overall compared to other 4 star hotels i have stayed in wellington, the quality really feels only a 3 star (because of room/carpark and view but maybe that was the reason this was a special secret deal. If you are staying for practical reasons, this hotel is fine and adequate but it could go the distance if you wanted something a bit more special. 5ANDREW - Jun 15, 2013 Travelbug verified review

Not quite the 4 star accommodation we were expecting. Room was very small, no room to put luggage without it being in the way. Asked for a kind size bed and it was just two singles pushed together. Didnt have any luxury feel to the room. Iron leaked water everywhere.... Quality of fittings in the room was lacking. No sink to fill kettle other than in the bathroom. Not a terrible stay just not what we were expecting from a four star rating. .

Booked for 3 nights through secret sale. Our flight couldn't land due to fog so we had to fly in the next day. Tried to contact the hotel to inform them but didn't answer. Next day we checked in, reception didn't even ask why we checked in a day late. Tried to go up to our room but one of the two small elevators wasn't working, there was a cue and maintenance strolled past. When we alerted him, he checked to see that it wasn't working, and said that it wasn't working yesterday as well and walked off. Things weren't much better when we got to our 11th floor room. The room was tiny, view over a dirty car park. Tried to get some sleep but could hear every small noise, including the when people next door closed their curtains! not to mention the mattress and pillows were strangely uncomfortable. Asked reception for late checkout, they said that checkout is 10 and they extended it til 11. I asked for later, and they said 11:30. Later i checked the hotel brochure it said checkout is at 11am.

Was clean enough - bed very uncomfortable had two single mattresses joined by a board underneath to make queen size. Odd set up - pillows were hard and only had two - though they added another set on third day. Very convenient location - staff were friendly.
