15 Hunt Terrace Wakefield Nelson
Bush Walk Bed & Breakfast Homestay is a home away from home in the village of Wakefield, 29km south of Nelson City and 17km from Richmond on State Highway 6. It is well situated for those travelling north or south, who want to explore the Nelson region.
There are two rooms, the Totara (double) and Wisteria (extra long Queen slat bed) and they both share the bathroom with shower over the bath. Complimentary hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are supplied.
Both rooms open onto a private deck which has a table & chairs where guests can sit and watch the native Wood Pigeon's, Bellbirds and Tui's through the tree tops.
All the upstairs area of the house has been set aside for guests.
The house is set in amongst New Zealand native bush, in a lovely secluded setting. Faulkners Bush reserve borders the boundary and is a short cut to the village. It is a large park with pathways through the original native bush. It has a play area for the children and BBQ's for the public to use. From the lookout you can view the wonderful vista from Wakefield to Nelson, right out to Tasman Bay. In the village is a grocery, hairdressers, chemist, Doctors surgery, garage, fish and chip shop, bakery, Cafe Rhubbarb and The Villa Tearooms.
There is a gallery on site where Bruce and Sandra have their work on display, paintings, cards, pottery and children's chairs and tables.
EXTRA'S: Bruce will demonstrate how to make a pot on the wheel, then guests can have go themselves, with him guiding them through every step. Dinner is available on request for between $45 - $50pp. (24 hours notice please).
INCLUDED IN THE PRICE: Light refreshments offered on arrival, a complimentary glass of wine or beer later in the evening then a lovely continental breakfast the next morning.
As locals Sandra and Bruce can suggest activities and organise tours. They can give valuable information of the region, and have escorted guests on boat trips to the Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Park.
Bruce and Sandra have travelled extensively and love meeting people. They have hosted many different guests from all over the world. Their interests are pottery, golf, motor sport, painting and music.
