The Innkeeper's Lodge & Currach Irish Pub

78 Blackwell Drive Tryphena Great Barrier Island

Cafe/Restaurant Carpark access

The Innkeeper's Lodge is located beside Stonewall Village and across the road from beautiful Pa Beach in Tryphena Harbour.

The lodge is built around an old historic Kauri Villa with a rich settler history. The Lodge has five en suite rooms and a small backpacker unit. The lodge is part of the iconic and friendly Currach Irish Pub.

This venue is an ideal place for a holiday with the option of dining in the Gallery Restaurant or cooking in the self-catering guest kitchen. There is also a delicious takeaway menu available from the Restaurant Kitchen if you want to watch the sunset at the beach.

The en suite rooms include twins/doubles and bigger rooms that can sleep up to 4 people. The Gallery Restaurant hosts regular local art exhibitions. We can arrange fishing charters, car hire and flights. We have hosted weddings, and small conferences at the Lodge.

We have been in the Hospitality Industry for over 3 decades and love sharing beautiful Great Barrier Island with our guests.

Lovely room and beautiful spacious gardens. Exceptional hospitality - staff so friendly, and reserved table for us and ensured we were treated as priority in pub on busy nights. Peaceful despite being a pub room.

This was the last night of our 8 day mountain-biking and tramping tour of gbi, and what a luxurious and fitting end to our adventure after 6 nights in (well equipped) doc huts and relatively basic (but comfortable) back-packer accommodation! after a couple of pints of guinness and a good solid meal delivered to the balcony off our lovely room, we had the best night's sleep of our holiday. Pity about the septic tank though, which definitely needs fixing . . . . .

What an amazing place this is! i was welcomed by a truly rustic & typically irish atmosphere with very lovely hosts mora & phil who instantly gave me a feel of "belonging and family". Mora with her warm and big smile each and every day made me feel like i always lived at great barrier such was her passion of introducing me to this magic part of nz. Only 100km away from akl but worlds away from rat race. The rooms & facilities are spacious, very comfy, clean & well looked after and provide all there is needed. The evenings in the pub were magic with really great tasting food and live music. All their staff is well trained, always helpful with happy smiles. I had 6 amazing days there to find my inner self & peace again and seriously didn't want to leave anymore. I got to know so many locals in my short time on great barrier and they are very friendly and laid back. I sooo enjoyed my stay and definitely will be back!!! highly recommended the place. They are busy so book early.. : ) : ).
