Awanui Homestay

157 Angle Rd RD 3 Whakatane

Pet Friendly Non Smoking Carpark access

Lois and daughter Adrienne provide very quiet and peaceful rural accomodation in a 1920's style villa set in a welcoming cottage garden on the Rangitaiki Plains.

Our lifestyle block is 10 minutes from Whakatane which has great shopping, restaurants and cafes and 15 minutes from Ohope Beach, a very safe swimming and surfing beach. Hot pools and golf courses are also handy as are major tourist attractions such as boat or helicopter trips to the active volcano called White Island (Whakaari ), guided walks on Whale Island (Motuohora), swimming with dolphins, horse-riding in New Zealand native bush and magnificent walks in the number of National Parks close by as well as enjoying the beautiful Rotorua lakes on our doorstep.

We offer two bedrooms, one with king size bed and the other with one single and one king single bed. A private bathroom is separate to the bedrooms. We only book one party at a time to avoid sharing of all facilities.

There is a lounge for visitor use only.Continental breakfast is included in your stay and can be enjoyed in the private lounge or out in the sun room. Dinners are an optional extra and we request you order a dinner 24 hours in advance.

Lois is an avid camellia grower (and National Judge), Adrienne is an artist and both are keen gardeners.

Awanui is just magic, beautiful peaceful surrounding. Lois was just an amazing host we felt very welcome the minute we walked through the door. Her breakfast was divine with home made muffins and seasonal fruit preserves using fruit from her orchard. Could have quite easily stayed here for a week...

Awanui Homestay is in the country but close to town. Super comfortable bed, bonus spa pool, super breakfast. Lois made us feel welcomed in her home and we had a lovely relaxing stay.
