  • We spent four very comfortable nights at Nana's Place, which is like a motel but attached to the owners' home so is quiet and private. There is a large living area and fully equipped kitchen, with separate bedroom and modern bathroom. The price is extremely reasonable and the hosts are very friendly and obliging. Highly recommended 5

  • We stayed here 3 years ago and the owners were delightful and friendly. Obviously time has jaded the male part of the equation. First they looked stunned when we turned up, as he had told her we were due the next day. Then he turns the air con on while the doors and windows were open without a word to us that we might need to close them. However, we fell asleep with the doors open and the cheap-arse air con failed. Knocked on the owner's door, got no response. Rang the main landline and found it directed thru to him at work, where he was less than pleased to hear from us. Informed us it was OUR fault the unit had failed and an electrician was required ... even tho he said he also noted as he left for work that our doors were open. Hmm, don't suppose it would have taken a minute to pop over and say 'hey guys, you need to close the doors or our air con will fail. We sweltered for the rest of the night. Not impressed by the customer service at all. 1
ANNA THOMSON - Jan 23, 2016 (Stayed Jan 2016) Travelbug verified review
  • Well I am sorry you feel that way, and I (the Male part of the equation)do apologise for the fact that I had our dates wrong, after all we are humane too. As for the fact that "he turned the Air Con on while doors were open, your family were still bringing things into the Unit (thru the door)and the remote is wired in right next to where I was to exit and when I wanted to explain to you how you can set the temperature, you quickly told me that you knew how because you have Air Con at home although you probably only have a hand held remote not a wired in one like we have. Sorry Anna you are wrong again, every window was closed. Another question you asked was "is 18 degrees as low as it will go" the answer, Yes, I haven't seen one that goes lower apart from a deep freeze. As for the cheap-arse Air Con, it is rated over the required capacity of the Accommodation Unit and let me tell you, it was not cheap. All Air Cons will freeze up and trip out if they are running at 18 with all the doors open, but because you have one at home, you will know all about that as well or maybe you shut your doors. Yes, our land line does divert to "him at work", that allows "him, the male part of the equation" to render help at any time, and "her" went to visit our daughter. You will know from past experience that when our guests are settled in, we do not run back and forth annoying them, we let them enjoy their own space at their own pace. Hey Anna, Him is Phil and Her is Pauline, remember??

  • Would have been good to have known beforehand that the bathroom has to be accessed through the bedroom...Dinner guests have to walk through bedroom. Also, too many artworks and nick-knacks in unit - makes the unit feel cluttered and old-fashioned. Comfortable, warm, and lots of light. Great in every other respect. 4
