  • My husband and I were at Home of Ra for one night. The property is spotless and the hosts were very gracious - despite our 11pm arrival. It's a pity we couldn't stay longer. Would definitely recommend it to others. 5

  • Didn't enjoy this experience. Turned up and we weren't expected despite having an email acknowledging change of days/dates etc. Having to walk through the main house, and being able to hear everything upstairs etc was all too strange for us so we left after just one night. 1

  • The Home of Ra did not expect our guests until the following day. At the time this did not appear to be a problem with the McCarthy's as the facilities were available. Having to walk through the living area to access the lower level, which is our guests private area, has never been a problem with other guests. As to the noise the Home of Ra does not know as to what they are applying to, again we have never had any complaints. The McCarthy's never gave any indication of concerns at the time.

The bed was extremely comfortable and gave us a amazing sleep. The bathroom was beautiful and very clean. Breakfast was well enjoyed too. We hope to return with friends for another weekend if we can get another booking as it so good. 5

  • We had a most pleasant stay here. David and Corrie were great hosts, bathroom was fantastic, bed comfortable, and great views to the sea from the balcony. Only one negative, having to enter through the main house living area, but considering the wonderful hospitality of the hosts, not really that much of an issue. Recommended, highly... 5

  • We had a lovely 2-night stay at Home of Ra recently - the friendly hosts made us feel so welcome in their beautiful home and we had a private area (incl. separate lounge) all to ourselves. The facilities were very modern and spotless. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Hawke's Bay area. We would be pleased to stay there again anytime. Thank you David & Corrie for having us to stay - much appreciated!! 5
