ONE TREE POINT BEACH RESORT - EMBRACE A SLOWER PACE

Situated on the southern shores of Whangarei Harbour just 90 minutes north of Auckland, One Tree Point Beach Resort offers apartment-style beachfront accommodation consisting of fully self-contained chalets set in tranquil, park-like surroundings with stunning views.

Guests enjoy close proximity to shops and boat ramps, and direct access to a safe, white sandy beach fringed with Pohutukawa trees. Cafés, restaurants, shopping and surf beaches are all within 10 minutes by car, making us the ideal location for individuals, families or groups holidaying or attending functions in the Bream Bay area, and for contractors working on projects in the high-growth area of Marsden Point who are looking for short or long-term accommodation.

Each of our chalets feature a flat-screen TV, microwave, refrigerator/freezer and stove/oven. Leading off from the kitchen is the laundry and bathroom area with a flushing toilet, hot shower and washing machine. • We found our stand alone unit clean, spacious, quite, well equipped and in excellent condition with all the modern appliances we needed (fridge freezer, extra large flat screen, auto washing machine). It took us back to our childhood holidays. The hosts welcomed us and extended their hospitality to suit our late departure. The setting was pristine, the gardens well maintained and we look forward to a return visit. The price was at the higher end of the market - BUT - it was LABOUR WEEKEND .... next time we will visit off peak when prices are cheaper. I would like to suggest a larger more prominant sign at the gate as it was dusk when we arrived and sharp eyes were required. 5

  • We wanted peace and quiet away from the rat race. We got it. A cute little chalet, exceptionally clean and tidy with everything we could ask for. Sea views from every window and a few metres away from a beautiful secluded beach, great area to swim safely too. If you're looking for something private where you can switch off from the world, this is definitely the place. We can't wait to come back and we haven't even left yet. Linzi & dave mar 2013. 5

  • Loved every minute of our stay...Cabins were very clean and comfortable- loving the retro thing. We had the use of a BBQ which was great and the people were very helpful. Our kids had a blast and we would def stay again and have already recommended it to many others 4

  • Yes the driveway was a little rural with the odd container but the property was spotless, well stocked, had great TV reception and amazing views. We were with our 2 year old daughter and thought it was great. Would recommend. 4

  • Driving up to the place it looked a bit scruffy but once inside it was very nice, spotlessly clean, had everything we needed. Would certainly recommend to others. 5

  • We spent 4 nights here over the summer and enjoyed complete privacy and tranquil waterfront views from our balcony, the beach is about 20 paces away. A real hidden gem that was a great base for us to travel to close by beaches from. If its the old school classic kiwi bach you are looking for with safe family swimming on your doorstep this is it....a little like stepping back in time. Kept thinking it would be ideal for 3 families of friends to take up the 3 available chalets and you'd have the ideal set up. Lovely owners, very accommodating, all amenities you could need. Definitely recommend. 5

  • Sadly the "resort " was nothing more than a very run down trio of cabins in great need of repair and renovation work . The Hostess seemed to be very indiffent when we arrived and sought of left us to find out things for ourselves . We even enquired where was a resturant close by and was even unsure where there was one or even about the opening hours . Anyway we found the Tavern and must say we enjoyed a great mean and very friendly service . On the drive back we looked around at couple of motels and enquired about the costs and we found them at a most reasonable cost compared to ours which was high for a bach .I could go on about the cleaniness , state of the tv [ three channels only one watchable ] no information about where and what to see in the folder left . This was my break after having majory surgery for cancer and sadly we decided to leave and came back to Auckland straight away . THE PHOTOS ON THEIR WEB SITE DOESNT SHOW THE OLD CONTAINERS , BARNYARD SHEDS . THE BROKEN TIMBER , UNPAINTED BUILDING , ANCIENT FURNITURE ETC . THIS VENUE DOESNT EVEN RATE A STAR AT ALL AND PEOPLE SHOULD BE MADE AWARE ITS A " BACH " AND NOT A RESORT IN THE BIGGEST STRETCH OF THE INMAGINATION . 1
