Wai Ora Lakeside Spa Resort
  • Overall this resort was 'nice' but i don't think that we would stay there again in the future. It just wasn't really my style of accommodation. The room that we stayed in was good, but there was nothing particularly special about it. It was on the ground floor, and although quiet, we did get a view of people walking past our room in the afternoon. For a restaurant that has such a great rating, i was surprised at how old fashioned it felt. The music was depressing and it was awkwardly quiet in the morning when we had breakfast. The pool was smaller than it appears in the website's photos, and the hot tubs were not private at all. Also after dark, there was no way you would have wanted to use the hot tubs (which is what i was planning on doing) because it was super dark and scary. But if you turned the lights on, it would attract a million 'trout files'. The staff were friendly, and if you like small and very quiet accommodation, then this would be a good place to check out. 5

  • We stayed at the Wai Ora Lakeside Spa Resort in September. It has recently been refurbished and the facilities are excellent. It is a great place to stay with beautiful views of the lake and Rotorua township. Handy location - close to town, airport, redwoods and the green and blue lakes. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the food and service was wonderful. Highly recommended !! 5
