The Stamford Plaza Auckland is a luxury hotel in the heart of Auckland's CBD. The hotel is within walking distance of Viaduct Harbour, Waitemata Harbour and the Vector Arena.
Spacious guest rooms are on offer, all with luxury bathrooms. Some of the rooms have large panoramic windows offering great city views.
The hotel offers great leisure facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and state-of-the-art gymnasium.
The Stamford Plaza has 4 restaurants to choose from, including speciality Thai and Japanese cuisine. The hotel's all-day dining restaurant offers local and international food.
Stamford Plaza Auckland, a Qualmark rated Five Star Hotel, was voted New Zealand's leading Business hotel by the 2008 Travel Awards. Stamford Plaza Auckland is a Non smoking hotel.
Last refurbished in 2006 the hotel has 286 guest rooms located from Floors 3 to 10.
The hotel has a grand lobby entrance that features a spectacular granite wall behind reception. Knights Lobby Bar is the heart and pulse of the lobby foyer.

Great stay, it was a weekend getaway that left us rested and relaxed. Staff friendly and efficient. Pool and hot pool great for relaxing while watching the rain outside! room very clean and comfortable. The stamford breakfast is great to share with a good selection of food. Very nice place to stay. We travelled with a one year old and staff were very accommodating. The room was quiet, clean, and spacious. Excellent location near britomart, the viaduct and the ferry terminal.

Like andrew bell below (25 nov 2012), my room was too noisy (some sort of valve in the wall behind my bed) and my bed was just two king singles (of slightly different height) pushed together. I had to wear earplugs in a five star hotel to get some sleep. Also when i went to take a shower after my swim, it took several minutes for the water to get up to temperature. Considering the price of the room, i would have thought wifi and breakfast would have been included in the price. I'm very unlikely to stay here again.

We have stayed at the stamford plaza before. It must impress us because we chose a 2 night stay for our 35th wedding anniversary this month. Great staff and service. We love grasshopper thai restaurant as well! .

Room was great, service was great, just had trouble finding it the first time, there were no signs or information till you were actually in the hotel lobby. Other than that was very nice.
