Whangateau Holiday Park is on the waters edge of the beautiful Whangateau Harbour (approx 90 minutes from central Auckland).
Kiwi camping as it used to be. Great for swimming, boating, kayaking and exploring. We have kayaks and a dinghy for hire onsite.
We have Waterfront and Regular Powered campsites, Onsite Caravans, Standard Cabins, Standard Units and Ensuite Units... something for every budget!
5 minutes from Matakana and 5 minutes from Goat Island Marine Reserve.
Whangateau Holiday Park has a full range of facilities to make your stay comfortable and convenient. We pride ourselves in providing the cleanest facilities available.
Showers and Toilets: Whangateau Holiday Park provides clean showers, metered at just 50c per shower. Hairdryers are provided in both men's and women's amenities. We also have a newly setup Parents Bathroom.
We also have accessible family shower and toilet facilities with wheelchair access.
Laundry: Our laundry facilities provide coin operated washing machines for hot or cold washes, and coin operated dryers. We have washing line space and washing baskets, irons and ironing boards are available along with tubs for hand-washing.
Cooking: We have two communal kitchens equipped with gas cooktops, microwaves, fridges, freezers, toasters, continuous boiling water and sinks for washing up with dishwashing liquid provided. You can also make use of our communal covered BBQ area.
Games/ Dining /Lounge Room: The dining/lounge/games area is equipped with tables and chairs, couches, Games Machines, large TV with Freeview and a swap-a-book library service with stunning views overlooking the harbour.
Accommodation Block: Our accommodation block contains: 2 x Ensuite Units & 6 Basic Units. The all units have outward facing windows, and external access.
Internet Access: We now have WIFI available throughout the park (charges apply)

Great managers!, we arrived after 10pm due to husband finishing work late, given info & key to our unit with no hassles. Our unit was very clean, tidy & fresh, facilities excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend this camping ground to all. Enjoyed our stay at campground, found facilities good and clean. Would be excellent for young families as harbour is safe and even returned after swim at goat island for shower even thou we had booked out, thank you!.

Clean and tidy was good - no view, no breeze, (when i am sure I could have been placed in the opposite side of the same building facing the bay would have been nice). At $105 it was overpriced. I stayed at top 10 whangarei the following two nights at $90 per night - again no view but much more pleasant and a little less bare. I would not stay at this place again as it is off the beaten track somewhat and overpriced for what and where it is. Thankyou for asking for feedback. robert

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately we only have 2 Self Contained Units within our park, one of which had been booked previously. We do have cheaper options available which allow us to cater for all budgets. Whangateau is situated ideally for an escape from the bustle of city life. Kind regards, Bridget
