Things you must see & do
Entertainment can be cheap in Vegas, from a walk along the Strip at night watching the Bellagio fountains or any of the other casino outside ‘shows’ to one of the marquee acts that headline the theatres around town. And if you’re playing in the casinos, you can get drinks for the price of a tip.
If you’re into pools, the Bellagio and the Cosmopolitan have some of the best places to lounge – just be sure to arrive early and stake your claim to a lounger. If you’re into shopping, try the outlet malls and the inside word is that the air conditioned one at the south end of the Strip is the best.
If you’re into gambling, make sure you have a good wander and check out as many casinos as you can to find one that has the vibe you’re looking for. Two fav picks are the poker room at Planet Hollywood for its laid back feel or anywhere at the Bellagio.
For those who fancy a stroll, the Strip takes longer to walk than you’d think and don’t try to walk from the Strip to downtown Vegas – it’s a long way and you’ll regret it.
Vegas doesn’t need to be an expensive stay. There are hotels and motels for all budgets and likewise you can find a meal for any price.
Remember that it’s good to tip the dealers if you’re playing cash games, the hostesses per drink and basically anyone else who does anything for you.
