Since 1983, we’ve been Kaikōura’s wings in the sky. Nestled between the rugged Kaikōura mountains and the expansive Pacific Ocean, Air Kaikōura Aero Club has flown our community, visitors, and wildlife lovers on incredible journeys for over 40 years. What began in 1983 as a passion for flying has grown into a trusted local institution- one built on safety, connection, and love for this landscape.
See Kaikōura’s giants as few ever do, from the sky. Glide over the coast to spot majestic sperm whales, playful dusky dolphins, and more, framed by snow capped mountains and endless ocean. With experienced local pilots guiding the way, every seat is the best seat in the house.

Restrictions
If you are over 120kg, please contact us by phone or email. Unfortunately we are unable to provide refunds if you arrive and exceed our weight limits, please call us in advance to discuss if you have any concerns.
Disclaimers
Flights are weather dependent. A full refund will be given if the flight cannot operate due to poor weather conditions.
Flight times may be adjusted to align with whale diving patterns, which can result in earlier departures. If you are not present at the check-in time, the flight may depart without you.
At Air Kaikōura, we are committed to providing you with an exceptional experience and doing everything possible to locate whales during your flight. However, as whales are wild and their behavior is unpredictable, sightings cannot be guaranteed.
We appreciate your understanding that refunds or rescheduling cannot be offered in the event that whales are not sighted. We hope you will still enjoy the breathtaking views and the unique opportunity to explore Kaikōura’s stunning landscapes and marine environment from above
