  • Thanks for the review. From your rating it looks like you enjoyed your stay at Te Mata Lodge, which is great. The grounds and the river are a stunning space for families and couples to enjoy. It is very true that the cottages need a little bit of renovating and redecoration. They were built back in the 60's and are waiting patiently in line to be renovated. They are always clean and tidy and kept up to date with new bed spreads and linen.

  • We had a great stay thanks to Mike for his friendly helpful and easy going attitude. No worries about a strict check out time or anything like that here. Set beside the river with a beautiful hammock filled garden this was just what all the family wanted. The kids had fun on the trampoline and we played games on the lawn. Might try to go back again in summer and get those kayaks out on the river. 5

  • Though it was winter weather the chalet was warm and cosy with an extremely comfortable bed. Lovely to hear the river and be enclosed in bush and privacy. I had a great rest as well as enjoying the beauty of the thames coast itself. Very supportive and helpful owners. Would be a great place for kids in the summer. Thank you. 5

  • The location was pleasant. The chalets were clean and cosy enough but not well thought through. For instance, if the chalet can sleep 3 then there should be 3 chairs at the outside table and 3 inside. Plus - we were the only ones there and we had to use the BBQ at the next door chalet and we were cooking in total darkness. Little things but annoying at time - could be so much better with a few changes. But overall an OK stay. The owners are very friendly. 3

  • Thanks for the feedback. I apologies for the inconvenience of having to use the BBQ in the dark. The one for your chalet was in Thames for repairs and we should have moved the other one across. In regards to the chairs, very fair point, we have brought extra outdoor chairs for this now and we are sorry it was not in place for you at the time.
