Get right away from it all. Stay in our luxurious chalets and explore the Wild West Coast of Golden Bay.

The chalets have all linen provided and are serviced daily. Each chalet has a fully equipped kitchen which includes a medium sized fridge / freezer, a 2 element hotplate, a microwave, an electric frypan and a barbeque.
If you don't want to relax and enjoy the total peace quiet and birdsong, there are walks you can do from your chalet through the wetland or along the old logging roads through some of our beautiful native bush. The West Coast is just a few minutes drive down the road or you can launch your boat into Westhaven Inlet from the boat ramp 10 minutes back towards Collingwood.

We have a really lovely glow worm grotto that we are happy to take our guests through. There is a lovely display of glow worms, a number of koura (our native fresh water crayfish) and cave wetas to see.

  • One of the best placed we have ever stayed at. Hosts were magnificent - we even had a free glow worm tour at night. very welcoming and showed us their big garden and very informative and involved with the area. The chalets are so comfortable d beautiful forest views. Would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a drive. 5

  • Sally brought us a bowl of fresh fruit from the garden when we arrived and explained all the local walks. In the evening we were taken to a grotto to see glow-worms. 5

  • This is the second time we have stayed at Wetland View Park. It is a wonderful retreat where compulsory relaxation is the theme. We also ordered dinner one night which was absolutely delicious and highly recommended for a 5-star experience. 5

  • Sally and Giff were perfect hosts coming up with lots of superb walks for us to do and filling us in on the local history. Stunning scenery in all weathers and such a treat to be able to take our dog with us. We all thoroughly enjoyed having dinner cooked for us one evening too and served in our chalet, with no washing up to do!! 5

  • Wetland is a 30km drive down a gravel road and its well worth it. Getting there is half of the fun. You will cross numerous causeways affording glimpses of the beautiful Whanganui Inlet, one of New Zealand's most remote and best kept secrets. Have gone that far you don't want to be coming out for dinner, but no worries, Sally and Giff will look after all that for a very reasonable fee. Sally is a great cook and the chalets are modern, comfortable and fully decked out with everything you could wish for. You don't have to have a 4WD but you will feel more comfortable in one (I had a RAV4) and you will get to explore even more remote parts. Outstanding experience and quality accommodation. Dont forget to ask for the glow worm tour. It's a must! 5
