Sydney accommodation

General info

Sydney is a big city, with a big attitude. It is one of those cities that doesn't do anything by halves. The Sydney Opera House is one of the most recognised buildings in the world, Sydney hosted an amazing Olympic ceremony in 2000, and their New Year fireworks display is known the world over. It is a city that makes sure that visitors don't ever leave disappointed!

Things you must see & do

An action packed week in Sydney will see you walking through the beautiful botanical gardens, enjoying some of Australia's best Thai food in the funky suburb of Newtown, fish and chips on Manly Beach (or Bondi if you are so inclined), and even going for a jet boat ride around the harbour.
Set yourself a challenge and put one day aside to spend as little money as possible on activities. The city is incredibly easy to explore and you will be amazed about how much you can actually do without spending a dollar.

Insider tips

Pick up some souvenirs from the Rocks Markets or Paddies Markets. Book a show at the Capitol Theatre - the theatre itself is incredibly beautiful on the inside, and definitely should not be missed.

Grab a ferry from Darling Harbour or Circular Quay to see the city from a different angle. Heading over to Manly gives you great views of the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House.

The Rocks, north of the CBD, is worth a visit any time of the day – wander around the historic buildings and quaint laneways by day and check out the pub scene at night.
