Whakarewarewa is the legacy and home of the Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao people, who have been sharing their unique way of life with visitors from all around the world for over two hundred years.
Enter Te Whakarewarewa Valley and experience the unique Māori Culture and Geothermal Landscapes. Our Living Māori Village is owned and operated by local residents, providing an intimate look into day-to-day life in a Living Māori Village.
Book the Whakarewarewa Guided Tour to meet friendly, local guides who will bring the history of the valley to life for you. Follow our Self-Guided Nature Trails through geothermal fields, over steaming lakes and past bubbling mud. Watch our talented Kapa Haka group perform traditional Māori song and dance – there is so much to explore.

Cancellation Policy
Notification of cancellations will need to be made at least 24 hours prior to confirmed date of booking. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation fee of 25% of the total booking.
For Geothermal Hangi Meal or Hangi Pie Experience bookings cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to confirmed date of booking. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation fee of 50%.
